For the Scion Tuner Challenge, three well-known speed shops were given a tC and a limited budget and told to trick out the cars however they wanted. They will be judged by the National Custom Car Association and a winner will be declared at SEMA. Fast Eddies Garage in Los Angeles went retro, building the "Neu-Vintage" tC that borrows styling cues from 1930s cars, World War II airplanes and some modern touches. The bare-metal body is covered in rivets and the aircraft theme is carried over inside as well. Under the hood is a race-prepped motor and race-ready suspension. Mark Arcenal and his crew at Fatlace have styled their tC after the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters racing series cars. They've pulled out the fenders and squared-off the rear end and set up the car to echo the look of the touring car series. Rounding out the competition is John Pangilinan, a long-time Scion owner and customizer. His "Revault tC" sports a custom wide-body kit and an extravagant entertainment system.
