First it was B5 Blue, then Plum Crazy Purple and Furious Fuchsia. Now Dodge is reaching into its history again for another retro-inspired Challenger paint option called "Green With Envy."
"We're using Green With Envy on the new 2011 Dodge Challengers to pay tribute to some of the coolest paint colors from our past, including the 'Sublime' and 'Green Go' Dodge Challengers from the 1970's and more recently, the 'Snakeskin Green' Vipers from 2008-2010," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of Dodge. "Not only will this exclusive heritage color remain unique to the Dodge brand, it adds another fresh and exciting element to our modern American muscle coupe."
Available only on the Challenger R/T Classic and SRT8 392 models and for a limited time only, "Green With Envy" will give customers and collectors that little extra bit of exclusivity so many are apparently looking for. If you're already envious, you can get down to your local Dodge dealer and order the "Green With Envy" SRT8 392 right now. If an R/T Classic is more your style, you'll have to wait a bit longer but should be able to place your order before the end of March. The first "Green With Envy" cars will roll off the assembly line this month.
Of course, special paint jobs aren't free. You'll be the envy of the neighborhood when they find out you've got enough cash laying around to shell out $36,610 for a "Green With Envy" Challenger R/T Classic and $45,700 for a "Green With Envy" Challenger SRT8 392. For those keeping score, that's just shy of a $3000 premium for the R/T Classic and a more manageable $1300 premium for the SRT8 392.
